  • Reconcile transmission schedules after broadcast.
  • Provide excellent client service to stakeholders.
  • Generate reports and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Support Line Management as needed.
  • Adhere to SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Report on occupational health and safety matters.

POSITION: INTERNSHIP: ASSISTANT COMMISSIONING EDITOR

Main purpose of position

To create accurate, detailed and aesthetically aligned transmission schedules and running orders for Video Entertainment channels, ensuring programme content, channel branding and supporting elements are correctly scheduled and ready for seamless broadcast transmission within required deadlines.

Key Accountabilities
  • The creation of a presentation template with programme layouts, channel branding and promotional spots according to Video Entertainment requirements
  • Produce an accurate, transmission-ready detailed 24-hour running-order schedule for playout by the required daily deadline for Video Entertainment channels.
  • Ensuring that all changes are implemented timeously
  • Importing commercial breaks, scheduling of promos and fillers at suitable times to the target audience of the channel
  • Reconcile transmission schedules after broadcast
  • Provide excellent client service to all relevant Stakeholders
  • Generate reports and communicate to all relevant Stakeholders
  • Provide necessary support to Line Management
  • Adherence and compliance with the unit SOP's
  • Report on the operational risk and regulatory compliance matters
  • Report on risks to protect organisational integrity, create value and prevent financial loss
  • Adherent to Video Entertainment policies and procedures
  • Report on potential risk in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Assist with the delivery of special projects
  • Generate final presentation reports to relevant Internal and External Stakeholders
  • Compile Ad Hoc reports
  • Hand over daily presentation schedules and recons for sign off
  • Liaise with relevant Stakeholders

Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Degree in a media-related qualification
  • Knowledge and understanding of broadcasting systems
  • Broad Understanding of the Broadcasting industry etc, regulation and operational requirements
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
  • Good interpersonal- and Communication skills
