Job summary

Strand - Our client, an established timber merchant based in Strand, specialising in locally sourced and imported timber products, is seeking to employ an Internal Sales Consultant.

The successful candidate will assist walk-in customers in the showroom, handle telephonic and email enquiries, prepare quotations and provide customers with advice on suitable products.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting walk-in customers in the showroom
• Handling telephone and email sales enquiries
• Advising customers on suitable timber and related products
• Preparing quotations and following up with customers
• Processing sales orders and invoices
• Checking stock availability and advising customers on lead times
• Liaising with the warehouse regarding orders, collections and deliveries
• Maintaining good relationships with existing and new customers
• Handling customer queries and providing after-sales service
• General sales administration and maintaining accurate customer records

Requirements:

• Matric
• Previous internal sales, counter sales or showroom sales experience
• Experience within the timber, building materials, hardware or construction industry will be advantageous
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good numerical ability
• Computer literate
• Accurate and detail-orientated
• Able to work in a busy sales environment and handle several enquiries at once
• Friendly, professional and sales-driven
