Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join our Paarl team. This role focuses on evaluating internal controls, risk management and governance processes across the organization.

You will conduct audits, identify non-compliance or inefficiency, and provide practical recommendations. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of auditing experience, solid knowledge of COSO, and strong data-analysis and report-writing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing or related field.
• CIA/CISA/CA(SA) strongly preferred.
• 3–5 years of internal or external auditing experience.
• Strong understanding of COSO, risk assessment, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and analytical Internal Auditor to join their team in Paarl . This non-remote role is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes across the organization. You will conduct audits, identify areas of non-compliance or inefficiency, and provide recommendations for improvement. This position is vital for ensuring the company operates efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with all applicable regulations, offering valuable insights across diverse business functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audits according to the annual audit plan, assessing risks and controls.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Conduct fieldwork, gather sufficient, reliable, relevant, and useful audit evidence.
• Document audit findings, develop practical recommendations, and present audit reports to management.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes relevant to internal auditing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CISA, or CA(SA) is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal or external auditing.
• Strong understanding of auditing standards, risk assessment, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Proficiency in data analysis techniques and audit management software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
