Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To generate and grow sales whilst maintaining required GP%, fostering great agent relationships, and providing high-level customer service by offering world-class itineraries to exceed agent & guests' expectations. This role involves securing, costing, and presenting products accurately and efficiently, creating inspirational luxury travel. The position is based in Johannesburg.

Detailed Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Reservations Manager on sales potential and agent relationship development for all bookings.
  • Maintain continuous communication and deliver excellent service to agents at all times.
  • Build trust-based relationships with agents, understanding their business trends and guest needs, and attend relevant familiarization trips as required.
  • Keep agents' booking information updated in the ARM, including preferences and booking habits. Actual contact information will be updated by Sales/Reservations Operations Managers.
  • Stay informed about Wilderness and third-party products, as well as technology updates.
  • Streamline operational negotiations, reduce dead beds, manage waitlists, and maximize camp operations to create memorable journeys for guests.
  • Stay updated with company policies, procedures, and system updates.
  • Assist with front-of-file management for other Travel Designers.
  • Manage and update trip and guest information on booking sheets.
  • Book flights in WISH once bookings are transferred from the programming team and handle post-travel administrative tasks, including collecting feedback.
Qualification

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Matric certificate with Maths (minimum standard grade or above).
  • Tertiary qualification in Travel & Tourism or Hospitality.
Experience
  • 2-3 years of experience at an intermediate level.
  • Working knowledge of TourPlan and WISH or similar booking/operating systems.
  • Strong product knowledge of Southern & East Africa (Tanzania & Kenya).
