Duties

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software and firmware for connected hardware devices.
• Implement and optimise software for microcontroller and processor-based systems.
• Build and sustain device drivers, bootloaders, middleware components, and communication stacks.
• Develop features for wired and wireless communication interfaces, including protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and Wi‑Fi.
• Interface embedded devices with peripherals and external systems, ensuring robust hardware-software integration.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to commission new devices and support product development from prototype to production.
• Debug and resolve issues related to embedded software, firmware, communication timing, protocol behaviour, and hardware interactions.
• Contribute to software architecture, uphold code quality, and adhere to engineering best practices.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design notes, interface specifications, and test procedures.
• Participate in code reviews, root‑cause analysis, and continuous process improvements.
• Support validation activities and field issue investigations using logs, traces, and bench‑based testing.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Solid understanding of embedded architecture and hardware interfacing.
• Experience with debugging and troubleshooting embedded systems.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and Wi‑Fi.
