Job description

We are looking for a Software Developer with strong skills in C# and frontend technologies. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining robust APIs and user interfaces across both front end and backend systems. The successful candidate will contribute to system integration, performance optimisation, and continuous improvement of production applications. The role also involves working with AI assisted development tools to improve delivery efficiency and code quality, as well as contributing to the integration of AI based capabilities into software products where appropriate. This role requires solid software development capability, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a delivery focused team in a dynamic environment.

The responsibilities of the position include:

• API and UI Development: Design and develop robust APIs and intuitive UIs, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance in line with user stories and project requirements

• Solution Design: Collaborate with feature teams to refine user stories, estimate tasks, and contribute to the design of effective technical solutions

• Data Management: Work with application data, including querying, imports, updates, and data validation
• Systems Integration: Implement and maintain system integrations using REST services and related integration technologies
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting to ensure stable system operation and timely resolution of issues
• Secure Coding and Compliance: Apply secure coding practices and adhere to relevant regulatory and compliance requirements, including PCI DSS, GDPR, and POPIA
• Agile Delivery: Participate actively in Agile delivery processes, primarily using Kanban, contributing to planning, execution, and continuous improvement to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions
• Code Quality and Maintainability: Write clean, well structured, and maintainable code, following agreed coding standards and participating in code reviews
• Testing and Reliability: Contribute to unit and integration testing, defect resolution, and ongoing improvement of system reliability
• AI Enabled Features: Support the implementation and integration of AI enabled features or services within software solutions, working within established architectural and governance guidelines

The following requirements must be met in order for you to be considered for the position:

• Matric Certificate
• Completed Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: (BSc) Computer Science and IT, (BCom) in Information Technology, (BEng) in Information Technology or Software Engineering
• At least 3 years’ experience in a software development role
• Strong C# and frontend web development skills
• Experience working with AI or machine learning concepts, tools, or integrations is considered a strong advantage
• Skills in mobile application development, particularly using hybrid technologies such as Flutter, are advantageous
• Requirements Analysis: Experience analysing user and system requirements and translating them into clear functional and technical specifications
• Agile Methodology: Practical experience working in Agile environments, with hands on experience using Kanban as the primary delivery framework. Familiarity with Scrum practices is beneficial
• Software Development Principles: Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies, applied effectively in real world production environments
• SQL Database Skills: Good understanding of SQL database concepts, including querying, data manipulation, and database design
• Version Control Systems: Proficient in using version control systems, particularly Git, to support effective source code management and team collaboration
• AI and Automation Technologies: Practical experience using AI assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, testing, or delivery efficiency. Exposure to integrating AI based capabilities into software solutions is an advantage
