Job summary

X, bigly labs in Johannesburg is seeking an Intermediate Project Manager to support the Programme Manager in delivering data, analytics and AI initiatives. You’ll maintain delivery plans, Jira boards, RAID logs and reporting across multiple squads to keep commitments on track.

The role requires PMBOK/PRINCE2/AgilePM and 3–6 years in project coordination or PMO, with Jira/Confluence and MS 365 experience. You’ll work with technical leads and product owners to ensure progress aligns with business

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Information Systems or related field.
• PMBOK, PRINCE2, AgilePM, Scrum Master or similar certification.
• 3–6 years’ experience in project coordination, PMO or delivery coordination.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Experience maintaining project plans, RAID logs and action registers.
• Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence and Microsoft 365 (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Maintain delivery plans, milestones and roadmaps across squads to track progress against quarterly commitments and OKRs.
• Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly delivery reports from squad updates, giving leadership one consolidated view.
• Coordinate governance and cross-team forums, including agendas and the meeting calendar.
• Maintain Jira boards, epics and initiatives to agreed standards so that all work is visible and linked to objectives.
• Work with technical leads, product owners, architects and engineers to follow up on actions and dependencies.

The Intermediate Project Manager supports the Programme Manager in running delivery across the Data, Analytics & AI Chapter. The role keeps plans, Jira, RAID logs, actions and reporting accurate and up to date, and follows work through to completion across multiple squads. Programme prioritisation, capacity decisions and executive escalation remain with the Programme Manager.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

Minimum

• Diploma or degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field.
• PMBOK, PRINCE2, AgilePM, Scrum Master or similar certification.
• 3 – 6 years’ experience in project coordination, PMO or delivery coordination.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Experience maintaining project plans, RAID logs and action registers.
• Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence and Microsoft 365 (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Advantageous

• Experience on data, analytics, AI or technology programmes.
• Exposure to Databricks, Azure, AWS or data warehousing projects.
• Knowledge of Scrum, Kanban and SAFe.
