Job description

Intermediate Phase Teacher of Afrikaans Required

Dihlabeng Christian School is situated in the town of Clarens, Eastern Free State, South Africa (3½ hours drive from Johannesburg). This is a beautiful town, recently awarded the Tourist Town of the Year, yet there are many residents living in poverty and need.

Dihlabeng Christian School was started in January 2000 as a part of Dihlabeng Christian Church’s desire to bring hope to the hopeless by working with the materially disadvantaged and those from the poorer part of our Clarens’ community.

The school is based on the verse from Isaiah 32:2, which paraphrased says:
“This school will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm and like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land.” In short, we are offering hope to the hopeless so that they in turn can become hope givers.

We are seeking a full-time, Christian, qualified teacher to join our team serving the poor by teaching in the local community. A teaching qualification and current registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) are essential requirements.
Applicant must have fluency in Afrikaans.
