Nova Pioneer seeks a skilled Humanities and English Teacher for an exciting role at their Boksburg primary school. The ideal candidate will lead engaging lessons, mentor apprentice teachers, and contribute to a vibrant learning environment. Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Humanities and English Teacher to teach intermediate Phase gradesat our Boksburg primary School based in Johannesburg South Africa!
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic teacher to empower students using an enquirybased learning approach and to be a part of an innovative network of schools that is developing generations of innovators and leaders who will shape the African Century.About the RoleWe are looking for an exceptional Humanities and English Teacher .
Teachers lead instruction and planning for subject or grade level classrooms and are responsible for driving a rigorous enquirybased learning environment the Nova Pioneer way.
Resident teachers are supported by Deans of Instruction who partner with them in their growth journey observing lessons providing feedback and coaching.
Resident teachers support and mentor apprentice teachers.
See below to learn more about the teaching model at Nova Pioneer.Key responsibilities for the role include : Deliver impactful and engaging enquirybased lessons supported by technology to enhance instructional deliveryObserve coach and be a model teacher for Apprentice teachersInfuse joy and passion for learning into lessons so that students are excited about and invested in their academic excellenceSet and communicate rigorous and ambitious goals for all students and provide student feedback so they internalize itConduct ongoing assessment of student progress.
Use assessment data to adjust instructional content and delivery techniques accordinglyAttend weekly feedback meetings with Deans and learning designers to enhance teaching practicesFully participate in opportunities for professional growth including daily team meetings and reflections weekly professional development meetings instructional coaching and organisation wide learning and reflectionCommunicate regularly with parents through email telephone and parentteacher conferencesContribute to and participate in cocurricular programming for at least one activity in the course of a termParticipate in a variety of collaborative teams and committees fulfil supervision duties as assigned including some morning evening and weekend eventsAbout YouSkills and Qualifications required : Bachelors degree in Education or Bachelors Degree Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Specialising in Intermediate PhaseSACE registeredHumanities and English teaching experience or curriculum knowledgeExperience and / or understanding of Cambridge curriculum objectives would be an advantageAbility to lead a classroom independentlyYou love teaching and care deeply about the success of each and every studentYou have an understanding of and passion for enquiry based studentcentered learningYou have a deep understanding of children and you know how to connect with the specific age group that you teachYou are a team player and you enjoy group problem solvingYou are adept at using technology for instructionHow to Apply : Does working at Nova Pioneer excite you If so then apply now!To apply please complete the form on the righthand side of this page.

There are two types of teachers at Nova Pioneer : Resident Teachers and Apprentice Teachers.Resident teachers are able to lead classrooms and depending on the grade level they are teaching have strong content knowledge.
Resident teachers are typically qualified teachers with classroom experience or have a strong ability to lead a classroom independently.Apprentice teachers are high potential individuals with an eagerness to learn and grow into resident teachers.
Apprentices are paired with a resident teacher who provides them with mentorship and coaching observes lessons and provides regular feedback so that they are soon able to own their own classrooms.
Apprentice teachers may support more than one resident teacher across multiple classrooms.
Apprentice teachers have typically completed a bachelors degree and are pursuing a teaching qualification.
Apprentices have the exciting opportunity to work at Nova Pioneer while still pursuing their studies this gives them the opportunity to get real experience and earn money at the same time!
