Job summary

Curro Edenvale Combined in Edenvale is seeking an Intermediate Phase Head to commence duties in January 2027. The role combines active teaching, curriculum leadership and phase administration to support high standards of teaching and learning.

The ideal candidate holds a BEd and/or PGCE in the intermediate phase, with a minimum of three years’ headship experience, and proven management and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• BEd degree and/or PGCE in intermediate phase education.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an intermediate phase head.
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.
• Proven management and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor other teachers.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
• Willing and able to work overtime and weekends and to be involved in school activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach and plan lessons, assess and track academic progress.
• Manage the phase administration, timetables, staff duties, budgeting and communications.
• Oversee curriculum reviews, moderation and assessment planning.
• Mentor grade heads and conduct interviews and appraisals.
• Coordinate interventions, disciplinary processes and school events.
• Plan and supervise classrooms, environment and parent communication.
• Coordinate extramural activities and assessments.
