What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and / or skillsets :

  • An appropriate academic and professional qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • At least five years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Current SACE registration.
  • IEB experience.
  • A clear criminal record.

The responsibilities are :

  • Working together with the executive head and school leadership to ensure high standards of teaching and learning practice.
  • Performing the duties of a teacher and phase head.
  • Promoting a healthy process of reciprocal informal observation of class teaching practices.
  • Advising and contributing to curriculum development at school.
  • Coordinating the teaching and learning of the phase.
  • Setting examination papers, coordinating marking rosters and moderating examinations and assessment processes.
  • Mentoring other teachers in the phase.
  • Holding and leading regular departmental meetings and ensuring the keeping of minutes.
  • Actively assisting the executive head in ensuring good professional practice, standards, and quality of teaching and learning of subject / s in the school through proper dialogue with the class teachers.
  • Personal commitment to education and a willingness to contribute to the values and ethos of the school.
