We are looking for an Intermediate Industrial Engineer to support a range of engineering and operational improvement initiatives. This 12-month contract role is ideal for an engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience, ready to take on responsibilities that drive efficiency, process optimization, and cost reduction within our operations.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment and contribute to improving system performance, production workflows, and overall operational effectiveness across various engineering projects.
Analyze, design, and optimize industrial processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Develop and implement workflow designs, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards
Support the integration of lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, production, maintenance) to implement new processes or improve existing ones
Conduct time studies and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement
Create and manage documentation related to process improvements, equipment specifications, and compliance standards
Assist in the development and implementation of cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives
Contribute to capacity planning, resource allocation, and production scheduling to meet operational goals
Assist with the development of performance metrics and KPIs to track improvements and report on project status
Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of relevant industrial engineering experience, ideally within manufacturing or operational environments
Certification in ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) or equivalent
Proficiency in process design, optimization, and production planning
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex production and operational issues
Proficient in using engineering tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ERP systems
Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, MATLAB, etc.) for performance tracking and reporting
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with a focus on results
Duration: 12 months (renewable based on performance and project needs)
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Salary Range: Market-related / Competitive based on experience
