Job description

We are a central procurement solution serving the Cullinan Inbound DMC brands of primarily followme2AFRICA, Grosvenor Tours, Springbok Atlas, and Thompsons Africa. Successful negotiation and procurement are key to the success of our inbound clients and their customers and require inbound buying to deliver a highly skilled and focused team that can navigate a challenging commercial environment.

The role of the Intermediate Inbound Buyer is to work within this dynamic, commercially focused team and assist the Divisional Lead in adopting a commercially strong approach to procurement. This role aims to attain strong commercial results by focusing on rates, commissions, connectivity, payment terms, and terms and conditions (commercial grading).

Key Tasks Include but are not limited to:

  • Manage supplier contracts to ensure they have acceptable terms
  • Negotiate preferential terms with suppliers
  • Work and obtain an understanding of AI
  • Run data reports and interpret results
  • Brief supplier contracts for loading
  • Handle contracting and price inquiries from the Cullinan Inbound Divisions

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Grade 12 essential; a related tertiary qualification in Travel and Tourism / Procurement is highly preferable
  • EXPERIENCE: Related work experience in the Inbound Tourism industry, previous related experience/knowledge of negotiating contracts, previous related experience/knowledge of reading and interpreting contracts/service-level agreements
  • KNOWLEDGE: Strong Inbound Industry knowledge; strong geographical, travel product, and services knowledge in South and Southern Africa
  • SKILLS: Strong computer and systems skills (Reservations Systems, Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook / SharePoint; strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship skills; strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure the best rates and commercial terms; strong administrative, numeracy, and information-gathering skills
