Job summary

TMA Proactive Partners is seeking an Intermediate Full-Stack Software Developer in Cape Town to own end-to-end features across the stack. You will build product features using React/TypeScript and Node.js/NestJS, work with PostgreSQL and time-series data, and deploy services on AWS.

Jointly you’ll develop AI-enabled product features and engage with customers to translate problems into technical solutions. You’ll contribute to code quality, make technical decisions, and mentor less experienced

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial software development experience
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related discipline
• Proven experience with React
• Backend development experience with Node.js, preferably NestJS
• Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals
• Exposure to AWS or another major cloud platform
• Exposure to IoT / IIoT, telemetry or real-time data would be advantageous
• Interest or experience in AI / LLM-enabled development
• Proactive problem-solver who can own features and navigate ambiguity
• Strong communication skills and customer-facing comfort

This is a strong opportunity for an intermediate developer who wants more than a narrowly defined coding role. You’ll work in a small engineering team, build features end-to-end, work with substantial operational datasets and have genuine ownership over what gets shipped.

You’ll also have exposure to AI/LLM-enabled product development and occasionally work directly with customers to understand operational problems and translate them into technical solutions.
