We build and maintain the tech for Classifieds Marketplaces across the world. Our platforms attract millions of views per month and are market leaders in their respective countries. We aim to solve all of the technical requirements for running a highly scalable, highly available marketplace business. It does this while still giving local customizations for different countries and continuously improving from what we’ve learnt in other markets.

What will you do?

• Your mission is to design, build and implement high quality Laravel PHP based platform while diagnosing and resolving complex issues on a highly trafficked set of websites.
• Take ownership (with guidance) of tasks assigned to you from technical design, implementation and monitoring within timeframes and expectations.
• Work with and also improve on existing Software Development Processes to participate and interact during Agile ceremonies.
• Self Planning - We give the freedom to come up with unique solutions to complex problems.
• Delivery - Deadlines can be tight, we like to move quickly. Get involved in the lifecycle of our products.
• Able to solve complex and unique software problems.
• Design and implement new features and enhancements. Fix bugs assigned during the sprint planning process.
• Play a key role in reviewing and approving the work of your peers as part of the software development process.
• Ability to optimize application code for web performance and accessibility.

Requirements

• Degree / Diploma preferred but not required; 3+ years in development roles.
• Firm grasp of Laravel framework (v10.0 and later) with a focus on Blade templating and highly competent in software design patterns.
• Firm grasp of Tailwind CSS framework or another “utility-based” CSS approach is preferred but not required.
• Experience with AWS or similar preferable.
• Professional, self-motivated attitude.
• Broad knowledge of development processes, technologies and problems operating highly scalable software solutions.
• Analytical and strong problem solving skills.
• Able to work autonomously in all stages of development, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing.
• Good understanding of both front and back-end development.
• Ability to work from your location with your own fast and stable internet connection as well as a productive home office workspace.
• Proficient in written and oral English communication. High attention to detail.
