This position is based at our modern, centrally located Claremont offices – just across from Cavendish – where you’ll also have the opportunity to enhance and maintain our corporate environment to the same high standards as our villages.
We are seeking a visionary Interior Designer to craft spaces that are functional, safe, and truly inspirational – spaces that leave a lasting impression on residents, guests, visitors, and staff alike. In this role, every detail you design will help shape how Faircape is experienced and remembered.

Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Create functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing spaces by assessing requirements, optimising layouts, and selecting suitable decorative elements that align with Faircape’s brand identity.
- Develop detailed project schedules, track progress, and ensure all work is completed within set timelines and budgets.
- Provide regular updates and transparent reporting to management on project status, timelines, and any potential risks or delays.
- Propose cohesive colour schemes, innovative design concepts, furniture arrangements, and tailored lighting solutions for various spaces.
- Recommend high-quality fabrics, cushions, sofas, rugs, and accessories that balance style, durability, and maintenance requirements.
- Source and select furniture, materials, and décor items from trusted suppliers, ensuring quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with senior managers to refine concepts and translate ideas into actionable design plans.
- Oversee and work closely with the procurement team to manage orders, deliveries, and supplier relationships.
- Coordinate and manage the seamless implementation of design changes within facilities, minimising disruption to residents and staff.
- Conduct regular inspections of all villages, reviewing interiors and identifying opportunities for improvement or refurbishment.
- Drive continuous enhancements to Faircape’s interior spaces, ensuring they remain inviting, contemporary, and reflective of our high standards.
- Research and stay informed on emerging interior design trends, innovations, and best practices, applying relevant ideas to keep Faircape’s spaces ahead of the curve.
- Ensure all design solutions prioritise accessibility, comfort, and safety for residents, guests, and staff.
- Maintain a design library of finishes, fabrics, and materials to streamline future projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Interior Design or a related field (advantageous).
Experience:
- Proven experience as an Interior Designer
- Solid understanding of design principles, spatial planning, and colour theory.
- Proven ability to deliver innovative and practical design solutions.
- Knowledge of materials, finishes, furnishings, and lighting solutions suitable for both residential and office spaces.
- Familiarity with project management principles and working within budget and time constraints.
- Proficiency in design software
