Job Title: Insurance Sales Manager

Closing Date: 01 May

Purpose of the Role: To attain new and expand existing client base for Nedbank to grow the Nedbank brand and optimise revenue according to business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to a culture conducive to transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g., staff surveys).
  2. Support and participate in corporate social responsibility initiatives aligned with key business strategies.
  3. Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and policies; support their implementation.
  4. Follow established procedures for opening accounts, using checklists and account opening matrices.
  5. Complete weekly compliance training and assessments online to stay updated on regulatory changes.
  6. Maintain compliance documentation, including Letters of Authority, and inform clients accordingly.
  7. Process daily control reports with correct documentation.
  8. Identify client needs through needs analysis, providing suitable solutions and cross-selling where appropriate.
  9. Obtain referrals and leads from existing clients and other Business Units.
  10. Ensure all deals are priced in line with business objectives and strategies.
  11. Generate revenue by charging for ad hoc services.
  12. Monitor and manage sales activities daily, weekly, and monthly to meet targets.
  13. Increase market share by converting secondary clients to primary clients and ensuring account entrenchment.
  14. Participate in end-of-day discussions and implement manager’s recommendations.
  15. Stay informed on industry legislation and changes through newsletters, websites, and training sessions.
  16. Demonstrate Nedbank’s vision and values in interactions with team and stakeholders.
  17. Enhance personal skills and stay current through training and career development activities.
  18. Ensure accurate information sharing with stakeholders and maintain knowledge sharing within the team.
  19. Provide world-class service by listening, addressing client needs, and keeping clients informed.
  20. Resolve client complaints promptly using the appropriate system.
  21. Adhere to the 'ask once' promise and build strong client relationships through regular contact.
  22. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  23. Gather client feedback regularly through feedback forms.
  24. Mitigate risks by verifying clients and reporting suspicious transactions; adhere to confidentiality and fraud prevention policies.
Minimum Experience & Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years experience as a Sales Consultant in the financial industry.
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
  • Bachelor of Commerce in Banking or Accounting (preferred).
  • FAIS qualification and Regulatory Examinations 1.
Technical/Professional Knowledge:
  • Understanding of business terms, data analysis, governance, risk, and controls.
  • Knowledge of Nedbank policies, relevant regulations, and software systems.
  • Business writing skills and high-impact communication.
  • Customer satisfaction and managing work effectively.
