Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marine team at Marsh. This role will be based in Durban Umhlanga. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Policy Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring that the administration process in respect of new business renewals and midterm amendments is handled professionally, accurately, and swiftly to uphold our high standard of service levels to our clients.

You will report to the Insurance Operations Supervisor.

We will count on you to:

  1. Business development: support proposal and tendering for client executives.
  2. Policy Administration Management: provide the admin process in respect of policy administration handled timeously to ensure deadlines are maintained and service levels upheld; preparation of policy documentation for submission to Insurers; general administrative functions including monthly reports.
  3. Compliance Management: comply with all statutory and company regulations to protect clients and business interests; ensure that disclosure and business documents adhere to the requirements of the FSCA and the business.

What you need to have:

  1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in short-term insurance, preferably in the Marine / Goods In Transit environment;
  2. Knowledge of the FAIS Act and other legislation governing the short-term insurance industry;
  3. Essential qualifications: Matric and FAIS regulatory exams (RE1).
