An exciting opportunity exists for an Insurance Operational Accountant to join the Finance Department.
This position is based in Centurion.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties and Responsibilities:
SYSTEM ACCOUNTING
- Deposits Allocation on systems.
- Refund loading on System.
- Loading of Manual Adjustments on Admin System.
- Downloading Bank statements.
- Issuing of Deposit slip / proof of payments per request.
- Uploading of ACB'S on collection systems.
- Uploading of Refunds on collection systems.
- Unpaid Transaction Balancing (System vs Bank statement).
- Age analysis.
- Approval of ACB's on collection systems.
- Approval of Refunds on Banks and collections systems.
- Loading of Vendors on the system (As sent).
- Providing support to Underwriting for premium related queries.
CLAIMS ACCOUNT
- Top Up requests.
- Reconciliation of accounts.
- Providing Support to the Astute team for balancing.
MISSIONS
- Balancing of Commission Earner Report.
- Creating a Worksheet flow for monthly commissions.
- Analysing and confirming accuracy of data on statements before sending out to Agents.
- Creating Payment Split report to create Payment files.
- Piling individual Agency consolidated statements and payment summaries.
- Query Handling on statements and payments relating to commissions.
OVERALL
- Managing SLAs with team.
- Assisting with client queries.
- Any other duties as assigned by the company from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric is an essential requirement.
- B Com Accounting.
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
- This is an evolving role; candidate must be prepared for changes in the work environment.
Preferably, In Addition To The Above:
- Insurance / Financial service industry experience required.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Minimum Requirements:
- PC literate – Microsoft Office products skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Well spoken.
- Client orientation.

- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
- Proper telephone etiquette.
- Must be able to speak / read and communicate in English, Afrikaans will be an advantage.
