Santam Operations, Commercial Contact Centre has career opportunities for Insurance Consultants based in Hill on Empire. The role involves providing end-to-end service and support to brokers, including:

  • Servicing broker requests and inquiries via phone and email;
  • Handling general insurance and policy-specific inquiries;
  • Issuing new policies, maintaining, renewing policies, and managing agricultural policy aspects;
  • Resolving insurance queries within required timeframes and compliance standards;
  • Following up with clients when policies are canceled to understand reasons and retain policies;
  • Adjusting premiums based on new asset values;
  • Managing client expectations regarding turnaround times;
  • Adhering to underwriting criteria and regional requirements;
  • Profiling clients to recommend suitable products and underwriting options;
  • Advising brokers to meet clients’ needs with appropriate coverage;
  • Implementing process improvements; and
  • Providing support to colleagues during absences or busy periods.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • 60 FAIS credits in commercial lines
  • Relevant insurance qualification (NQF level 4) is advantageous
  • Proven experience in commercial and agricultural policy administration and underwriting within the short-term insurance industry
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in short-term insurance commercial lines and/or agricultural assets
