  • Technical Design Ability: Completes technical design work under supervision using company and client standards, supporting other designers.
  • Technical Expertise: Possesses proficient technical skills, actively seeking to improve and update knowledge.
  • Cross Discipline Interaction: Understands project setup and team structure; collaborates with other discipline designers.
  • Schedule Management: Aware of personal deliverable targets and schedules.
  • Commercial Awareness & Customer Focus: Develops engineering requirements under guidance.
  • Interpretation of Engineering Requirements: Develops engineering requirements under guidance.
Responsibilities:
  • Produce air distribution schedules and indicate air manifold positions on plot plans for CAD drafting.
  • Design instrument cable block diagrams for CAD drafting.
  • Create design guidelines for cable racking/routing drawings for CAD drafting.
  • Generate cable schedules from diagrams and project standards.
  • Draft sketches for control and equipment room layouts for CAD.
  • Develop instrument design index based on EFDs and Instrument Index.
  • Create earthing philosophy diagrams for CAD drafting.
  • Produce guidelines for instrument hook-up and installation drawings using project standards.
  • Create instrument location drawings based on database and plant layouts.
  • Contribute to 3D model development to clarify instrument requirements.
  • Produce instrument loop diagrams and termination schedules from database.
  • Create hand-drawn power distribution diagrams for CAD back drafting.
  • Provide hand mark-ups for panel layout drawings.
  • Incorporate supplier data into design database, schedules, and diagrams.
  • Provide mark-ups on mechanical and electrical interface drawings for back drafting.
  • Maintain design database and drawing register.
  • Produce enquiry requisitions for cables and junction boxes.
  • Assist in preparing Instrument contract BOM.
  • Perform equipment, panel, and cable inspections.
  • Liaise with engineers to ensure design intent.
  • Coordinate with CAD Operator for drawing creation and validation.
  • Resolve site queries, obtain redlines, and update as-built documents.
  • Assist in preparing 'End of Job' documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal Instrument Designer or Chief Instrument Engineer.
