Job description

Achieve Test Preps mission is to make higher education more accessible and affordable for working adults. Achieve offers live online instruction, 1on1 tutoring and mentoring, and flexible course schedules that empower nontraditional college students to test out of college credits and earn higher-level professional licenses.

Role Overview :

Achieve Test Prep is seeking an eLearning Social Science & Humanities Instructor to prepare customers to test out of traditional Social Science and Humanities courses, pass their CLEP and DSST exams, and help them stay motivated on their journey to earn their college degrees. The suitable candidate should have knowledge of the following courses and be able to teach them:

• Introduction to Psychology
• Developmental Psychology
• Sociology
• American Government
• Art of the Western World
• Ethics in America
• US History
• Humanities and World Religions

Responsibilities include:

1. Teaching assigned schedules and/or acting as a substitute when main instructors are unavailable.
2. Presenting lessons in an engaging and understandable manner.
3. Motivating customers to succeed.
4. Collaborating with other instructors and team members, and participating in meetings.
5. Following customers' journeys and informing the eLearning team of noteworthy observations.
6. Providing one-on-one tutoring for customers.
7. Performing other eLearning-related tasks.

Desired Skills and Experience :

• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, or related Social Science courses.
• Three or more years of experience teaching Social Science courses, including at least one year of virtual teaching experience.
• Experience working with Learning Management Systems such as Zoom, Google Docs, Google Slides, and other eLearning applications.
• Ability to teach different types of learners in real-time effectively.
• Excellent audience engagement skills.
• Strong Internet connection, functional computer, and noise-canceling headset.
• Efficiency, professionalism, and dependability.
• Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and willingness to follow Achieve Test Prep's eLearning policies and procedures.

Schedule :

Preferred availability: At least 5 hours overlap between 5 PM - 1 AM EST. Flexible availability between 9 AM - 5 PM EST is a plus.
