Financial Manager (Afgri Logistics) (Centurion)

We are seeking a highly experienced Institutional Equity Trader with a proven track record in the South African market to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in trading cash equities on the JSE, a solid understanding of equity derivatives, and the technical expertise to navigate various trading platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Execute trades in cash equities for institutional clients on the JSE, ensuring optimal execution and alignment with client instructions.
2. Manage and execute equity derivatives trades on SAFEX, supporting client hedging and trading strategies.
3. Monitor market movements, analyse trends, and provide real-time market insights to clients and the broader team.
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients.
5. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal trading policies, including risk management protocols.
6. Collaborate with the trading team and sales to develop and execute trading strategies.
7. Generate detailed trading and sales reports, providing clients with insights into market trends, trading activity, and portfolio performance.
8. Communicate effectively with clients, discussing market developments, execution strategies, and portfolio updates.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, or a related field (Honours degree preferred).
2. JSE Traders Exam certification (RE 5 or equivalent).
3. Minimum of 7 years of experience trading cash equities in the South African market.
4. At least 2 years of experience trading SAFEX equity derivatives.
5. Proven technical proficiency with trading platforms such as Hermes, Bloomberg, and Excel.
6. Strong analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and team members.
8. In-depth knowledge of JSE operations, equity markets, and regulatory frameworks.
9. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
10. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
11. A proactive mindset with the ability to identify trading opportunities and mitigate risks.
