Installations Technician - Stellenbosch, Somerset West & Paarl

INSTALLATIONS TECHNICIAN

Reports to: Technical Manager

Qualification & Experience: Matric or equivalent; Minimum 5 years' experience as an alarm technician; Extensive programming, wiring, installations, and fault-finding experience.

Job Requirements & Other Attributes:

• Valid driver’s license essential
• Must be PSIRA registered (Grade E)
• Sound knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Telecom systems
• Knowledge of CCTV, Intercom systems, and access control advantageous
• Able to work standby as required

Internal Clients: Installations, Servicing, Investigations, Operations, Technical Trainer

External Clients: FADT customers, Suppliers

Technical Duties:

1. Perform alarm installations as per quotation
2. Program alarm panels/systems as per specifications
3. Issue clients with quotes on-site for additional equipment if necessary
4. Plan cable runs with the wireman
5. Obtain customer codes before attending a call daily and when on standby
6. Complete handovers, invoices, and job cards after every installation
7. Provide feedback to Manager/Supervisor and Call Centre upon completion of a call

Performance Standards (Technical):

• Ensure installation matches Sales Rep's quotation
• Program alarms according to FADT standards
• Quote correct details
• Adhere to SHE requirements
• Obtain correct customer details prior to attending calls
• Complete handovers, invoices, and job cards accurately and timely
• Provide timely feedback to relevant parties

General Duties:

1. Download cites every morning
2. Keep stock updated and assist with stock takes
3. Maintain company vehicle cleanliness
4. Submit petrol slips
