Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a passionate Secondary School Science Teacher with a Physics specialization to join our client's Pretoria faculty. You will deliver engaging Physics lessons, design labs, and support students toward higher education and STEM careers.

Ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Physics or Science Education, QTS or SA-recognized equivalent, and proven secondary teaching experience; strong classroom management and dedication to safety and inquiry-based learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics or Science Education.
• QTS or equivalent teaching certification recognized in South Africa.
• Demonstrated experience teaching Physics at the secondary school level.
• Strong knowledge of physics concepts and modern pedagogy for science education.
• Excellent classroom management and ability to motivate adolescent learners.
• Proficiency in conducting safe and effective science experiments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive and engaging Physics lessons to secondary school students across various grade levels.
• Design, set up, and supervise practical laboratory sessions, ensuring student safety and adherence to protocols.
• Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to gauge student understanding.
• Utilize a range of teaching methodologies and educational technology to enhance learning.
• Provide academic support and mentorship to students, helping them overcome challenges in physics.
• Contribute to the development of the science curriculum and participate in departmental activities.
