Job description

An opportunity for an Injection Moulding Toolmaker has arisen in the Maintenance department at our client's premises in Port Elizabeth.

PURPOSE :

To undertake the manufacture, repair, preventative maintenance and machining of all injection moulds, jigs as required providing full machine, tool equipment and machine capacity to the Production function.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS :

1. Design and manufacture injection moulds from drawings, specifications and samples with Product Development Department.
2. Repair & maintenance of injection moulds as required & in accordance with planned preventative maintenance programme.
3. Manufacture of jigs & fixture from interpretation of tool and component drawings.
4. Design of press tools, jigs & fixtures from data, input from line and General Development personnel, etc.
5. Operation of spark eroder machine.
6. Manufacture of electrodes for spark eroder machine.
7. Spotting of in tools.
8. Argon & arc welding.
9. Programming & operation of wire erosion machine.
10. Operation of the milling machine.
11. Surface & cylindrical grinding.
12. Turning material on lathes.
13. Operation & reading of measuring instruments, telescopic gauges, micrometers, comparators, etc.
14. Perform such shifts, overtime (subject to legislated constraints), & stand-by duties as laid down in the departmental duty roster or as directed by Management.
15. Undertake any other projects, tasks or duties as assigned by Management from time to time.
16. Any other tasks to assist Artisans in the repair and maintenance of building and plant.
17. To ensure that all activities within my area of responsibilities are performed in compliance with the Company Policies and Procedures, and legislation with specific emphasis on Health, Safety, and Environmental aspects.
