Oxyon People Solutions in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Setter for a plastics manufacturing environment. The role focuses on safe and efficient installation, removal and connection of injection moulds on production machines, minimizing downtime while maintaining production and safety standards.

The successful candidate will read technical drawings, set moulds with clamps, operate an overhead crane and use lifting equipment to ensure accurate mould changes and compliance with safety

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
• 2–3 years' experience in plastics manufacturing or injection moulding.
• Proven experience installing and removing injection moulds.
• Experience operating injection moulding machines and mould connections.
• Experience with overhead crane operation.
• Experience using lifting equipment such as slings, chains and shackles.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and mould specifications.
• Strong understanding of production, quality and safety requirements.
• Safety-conscious with attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Install and remove injection moulds from production machines.
• Position, centre and secure moulds using clamps and tools.
• Connect mould water-cooling, hydraulic, core pull and ejector systems.
• Inspect moulds for damage, wear and defects before installation.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and mould specifications.
• Operate an overhead crane to transport and install moulds.
• Inspect and correctly use lifting equipment (slings, chains, shackles).
• Check machine safety guards, emergency stops and other safety devices.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the moulding and mould-change areas.
• Ensure mould changes are completed safely and minimise downtime.
• Identify and report leaks, damaged connections and equipment defects.
