JOB SUMMARY

The Tooling Technician is responsible for the repair and “return-to-operation” of injection molding tools that are actively engaged in producing quality products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Perform preventive maintenance on Injection Molds according to procedure and reports the status of the molds to the supervisor.
2. Operates machining tools and equipment for preventive and/or corrective maintenance of the molds.
3. Perform repairs and tests on Injection Molds.
4. Performs inventory of molding tools and parts and reports the status to supervisor.
5. Store and maintain validated components.
6. Stores non-validated components.
7. Maintains stock inventories by ensuring the proper levels of component parts are always available for tooling repair.
8. Improves the efficiency and accuracy of molded products by documenting reasons for mold repairs and solutions to prevent future manufacturing interruptions.
9. Follows all procedures and training.
10. Maintains excellent attendance.
11. Advise supervisor of any recurring production failures so that prompt corrective action may be taken.
12. Escalates recurring issues through the proper chain of command.
13. Maintains logs of all molds that have undergone preventative maintenance, as well as controlling each of the molds.
14. Maintains machine cleanliness standards.
15. Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations.
16. Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (JOB QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS)

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Must have experience repairing plastic injection molds.
3. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
4. Machines and tools area knowledge
5. Ability to Operate All Manual Mold Shop Equipment and Machines
6. Mechanical skills
7. Detail Oriented
8. Determination
9. Problem solving skills/troubleshooting.
10. Working well within a team
11. Responsiveness
