Job description


SUMMARY:

The Injection Molding Technician will be responsible for manufacturing plastic products and components. Some of the main duties of a plastic injection molding technician may include operation of injection molding machinery, visual inspection of produced components for quality control and to identify any issues or defects, and operation of automation attached to the molding work cell. Report at the end of the shift with output performance, any safety, mold, automation, or labor issues. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with those on the same shift as well as other colleagues for a smooth shift transition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain production to standard cycle times and document any deviations as well as tooling cavitation adjustments.
  • Primary function of the Technician is to keep the machine processes running and troubleshoot any processing problems that may occur.
  • Provides technical leadership to manufacturing personnel on the production floor.
  • Interprets assembly work instructions and procedures. Works with production work cell group to adhere to all work instructions.
  • Aids engineering in determining tools and processes.
  • Inputs production data into SAP.
  • Assists in the transition of new products and prototypes to the manufacturing floor for specific equipment lines.
  • Assists with a cross-functional team with the up-front planning for creation of work instructions.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, the Process Technician role involves responsibilities for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality, and delivery improvements to support our manufacturing and customer demand.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in an injection molding environment with a minimum of 5 years in process development.
  • Communicate verbally, electronically, and in writing with a good command of the English language.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Use of computer, hand tools, moveable stairs, overhead crane, and safety equipment.
  • Work a rotating 2-2-3 Day shift schedule of 12-Hours 7AM to 7PM.
