Our client in the telecommunications sector is seeking a well-experienced and highly professional ICT Infrastructure Project Manager for a 12-month contract.
The Core Infrastructure Project Manager should have at least 10 years of experience managing multiple large, complex projects or programmes, including a minimum of 5 years as the Project Manager for major, complex, cross-cutting ICT delivery projects.
The candidate must hold a Core Degree in an appropriate discipline from a recognized institution and be a member of a professional institution. PMP Certification and PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification are highly desirable. A Master’s Degree is advantageous.
The Infrastructure Project Manager must have specific experience with end-to-end management of ICT projects such as Data Centre – Mechanical and Electrical Infrastructure Upgrades and Integration Infrastructure Testing and Cutovers in a live environment.
The candidate should demonstrate experience in areas including stakeholder engagement at the executive level, presenting progress reports, understanding stakeholder needs, establishing project oversight processes, managing dependencies, tracking project health, coordinating virtual teams, managing risks and suppliers, and ensuring adherence to project delivery processes.
Additional responsibilities include facilitating workshops, deploying best project management practices, ensuring quality of deliverables, facilitating project transfer to support teams, supporting ICT-enabled business transformation, and implementing change management.
The role requires understanding of the Health and Safety Act, experience with complex and customer-facing projects, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work without travel as the position is based in Gauteng.
The engagement will primarily be virtual via Microsoft Teams, with occasional meetings at Head Office or with clients. Candidates must be able to access the company’s domain and communication applications from their own laptops.
