Job description

Manage all IT Infrastructure operations in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and regional offices, not limited to local offices.

Be available to provide solutions, advice, and issue resolution to IT personnel supporting physical infrastructure and client-facing branches throughout Southern Africa.

Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all network-related WAN, LAN, and WLAN networks.

Manage voice telephony software and hardware, including current VOIP systems (Asterisk, 3CX, Paton) supporting 120 seats.

Support and manage Microsoft Windows 10 & 11, Apple Mac, Linux, and VMware environments.

Provide software support across various applications.

Research and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet organizational needs in a rapidly evolving IT environment.

Troubleshoot hardware, software, WAN, LAN, and WLAN issues.

Develop and maintain disaster recovery policies and programs to mitigate network and critical IT system downtime.

Generate regular reports on network stability, availability, and problem analysis.

Manage website and intranet configurations.

Provide 24/7 helpdesk support and manage helpdesk operations.

Line management and liaising with third-party hardware and software suppliers to ensure service accountability and performance measurement.

Implement cybersecurity measures and policies.

Support all users with desktop, printer, and escalated software issues.

Ensure all PCs are updated with the latest software, have appropriate server access, and are logged and tracked in the helpdesk system.

Oversee overall IT infrastructure health and maintenance.

Set up server monitoring and reporting systems, including system backups with Veeam.

Maintain and improve disaster recovery plans.

Implement security and system policies, including firewall and security infrastructure management.

Manage IT asset records, including location, cost, and status.

Ensure hardware and software are current and functional.

Ensure compliance with software licensing.

Procure IT equipment and manage all IT projects, ensuring successful delivery.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Network/Infrastructure Engineer.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in IT support and administration.
  • Experience in network infrastructure and LAN/WAN environments.
  • Proficient in system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, and user support.
  • Experience with Microsoft Server Technologies, Microsoft, and Linux operating systems.
  • Support experience with telecommunications equipment, VOIP systems (Paton, design, servers), and AV systems.
Advantageous
  • Degree in Information Technology Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Network administration experience.
  • Previous line management and supervision experience.
  • Proactive, team-oriented attitude, ambitious, and innovative with a focus on meeting goals and fostering a positive team environment.
