Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

A proactive company specializing in cost-effective and innovative business solutions, located in KwaZulu-Natal, is currently in search of an Infrastructure Engineer.

The role entails overseeing the continuous maintenance and support of the organization's server, network infrastructure, and end-user IT equipment.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, possessing a deep understanding of the company's servers, networks, and related hardware to ensure seamless support for essential software applications crucial for ongoing operations.

While a postgraduate degree or diploma would be advantageous, a minimum of 2 years of experience in Desktop Support is required.

Additionally, relevant certifications such as VMWare (VCP), HyperV (MCP), MCSE, MCSD, Exchange, or Azure Fundamentals are highly desirable.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintenance of physical servers, racking, power management, and cabling.
  • Windows Server deployment and maintenance, Active Directory, and Group Policy management.
  • Microsoft Exchange, Office Online, Microsoft Intune, Endpoint, and Office software deployment and maintenance.
  • Azure Virtual Desktop management, file server permissions, DHCP, DNS configuration, and management.
  • Management of third-party software, Windows updates, hardware maintenance, and infrastructure documentation.
  • Anti-virus cloud services, asset management, environmental hardware checks, and policy creation.
  • License management, Mimecast administration, network and security setup, VPN, SSL, and web hosting knowledge.
  • Vulnerability testing, wireless infrastructure, PRTG monitoring, telephony support, and desktop provisioning.
  • Printer, biometrics, vendor management, and onboarding of Microsoft services.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning, team training, and support.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of firewalls, VPN, WAN, backup support, and storage/SAN systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Endpoint, Exchange, licensing, DNS, and web hosting.
  • Matric, minimum 2 years Desktop Support, and relevant certifications.
  • 3 years of network administration, virtualization, and support experience.
