We are lookingfor an experienced Cloud & Infrastructure Manager who combines stronghands-on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure experience with a solid understanding of ITinfrastructure and operational environments.
The idealcandidate will have experience designing, implementing, maintaining andsupporting cloud and infrastructure systems within a manufacturing, production,warehouse or distribution-centre environment. This is not a purelymanagement-focused role, the successful candidate must understand thetechnology at an operational level and be comfortable working with technicalteams, vendors and business stakeholders.
The role will beresponsible for ensuring that cloud and infrastructure environments are reliable,secure, scalable, cost-effective and fit for a high-availability operationalenvironment.
KeyResponsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain AWSand/or Azure cloud environments.
- Manage and support hybridenvironments incorporating cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Ensure infrastructure and cloudplatforms are highly available, reliable and scalable.
- Maintain systems supporting manufacturing,production, warehouse or distribution-centre operations.
- Work closely with operational andbusiness teams to ensure technology supports critical business processes.
- Monitor infrastructure, cloudplatforms, networks and systems and proactively identify potential issues.
- Implement monitoring, alerting,performance management and capacity planning.
- Manage infrastructure upgrades,migrations, implementations and technology improvements.
- Ensure appropriate backup, disasterrecovery and business continuity capabilities are in place and regularlytested.
- Apply security, patching,vulnerability management and configuration-hardening practices acrossinfrastructure and cloud environments.
- Manage cloud costs and identifyopportunities for cost optimisation, rightsizing and improved resourceutilisation.
- Work with technology vendors, serviceproviders and cloud providers.
- Investigate recurring infrastructureissues and drive root-cause resolution.
- Support incident management andparticipate in major incident resolution when required.
- Develop and maintain infrastructurestandards, documentation and operational procedures.
- Ensure infrastructure changes areproperly planned, implemented and controlled.
- Provide technical guidance andleadership to infrastructure and technical teams.
- Contribute to technology strategy,infrastructure roadmaps and continuous improvement initiatives.
ImportantCandidate Profile
The idealcandidate is not simply an Infrastructure Manager who oversees a team.
We arespecifically looking for someone who has strong AWS and/or Azure experience andhas personally been involved in setting up, implementing, maintaining andsupporting these environments. Experience in a manufacturing,production, warehouse or distribution-centre environment is particularlyimportant, as the infrastructure must support operationally critical systemswhere uptime, reliability, connectivity and rapid issue resolution areessential.
Candidates comingpurely from traditional infrastructure management, with limited practical cloudexperience, would not be suitable.
Requirements
- 7–10 years' experience ininfrastructure and/or cloud environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWSand/or Microsoft Azure.
- Proven experience setting up,implementing and maintaining cloud and infrastructure environments, ratherthan only managing them at a high level.
- Experience working in a manufacturing,production, warehouse, logistics or distribution-centre environment ishighly desirable and will be a key consideration.
- Experience supportingbusiness-critical operational systems in environments where availabilityand reliability are essential.
- Strong understanding of hybridinfrastructure — cloud and on-premises.
- Experience with infrastructuremonitoring, performance optimisation and capacity planning.
- Experience with security,vulnerability management, patching and infrastructure hardening.
- Experience with disaster recovery andbusiness continuity.
- Experience managing cloud costs andimplementing cost-optimisation initiatives.
- At least 3–5 years' leadership orpeople-management experience.
- Strong vendor and third-partyservice-provider management experience.
- Experience working with ITservice-management processes and frameworks.

- Relevant AWS or Azure certificationsadvantageous, including:
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate /Professional
- Designing Microsoft AzureInfrastructure Solutions (AZ-305)
- ITIL V4 Foundation advantageous.
- COBIT, FinOps, NIST/CIS orrelated certifications advantageous.
