Job description

Join Our Team as an Information Technology Systems Administrator! Join a dynamic and growing electric cooperative and support our information technology security efforts, and pave the way for new IT projects!

We are looking for an experienced IT professional to accept the challenge of implementing new technologies and supporting our IT Team and our employees.

The ideal candidate must be responsible for designing, evaluating, supporting, and maintaining the Cooperative's server and cloud-based systems, including Microsoft, Linux, virtual environments, and AZURE / M solutions.

Ensures reliable and secure operations, providing technical support and capacity planning.

Monitors and maintains security with NGAV, MDR, EDR, SIEM, Active Directory, and Azure / O to safeguard mission-critical systems.

Supports system backups, Access Control, DHCP, DNS services, and compliance with ITIL, NERC, and NIST standards.

Collaborates with vendors and contractors for procurement and network security.

Ensures prompt support services and upholds confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of ten years of directly related experience with supporting certifications, or an Associate's Degree and no less than 5 years directly related experience with supporting certifications.

Required: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or equivalent certifications.

Microsoft certifications related to server / cloud solutions, such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate.

Preferred: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification and Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must also have previous knowledge of and experience in:

  1. Critical thinking - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches.
  2. Systems analysis skills - to determine how systems should work and how changes will affect outcomes.
  3. Complex problem solving - to identify problems and review information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  4. Judgment and decision making - to consider the costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  5. Excellent customer service by telephone, in writing, e-mail, or in person.
  6. Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  7. Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  8. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Must meet criteria to obtain access credentials for the U.S. government installations included in the Eglin AFB Utility Privatization contract.

The normal workweek is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

The position mainly reports to the CHELCO Headquarters building in DeFuniak Springs but may be required to report to any CHELCO service locations.

With the exception of STD / LTD / FMLA & approved time off, attendance at a designated worksite location is considered essential.
