Job description

CHELCO, a progressive member-owned electric utility in DeFuniak Springs, seeks an IT Network Engineer to engineer and support IT projects, maintain integration between mission-critical software applications, monitor and maintain current network infrastructure, work with vendors, ensure compliance with security goals and policies, and update systems as needed.

The following qualifications and skills are required: an associate degree with at least five years of related experience, or a bachelor's degree in a related field with at least four years of experience in an enterprise IT environment.

Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Project+, Security+, or (ISC)2 SSCP or CISSP are preferred, with Cisco CCNA certifications desired, and Cisco CCNP certifications a plus.

Must have skills and abilities including critical thinking, systems analysis, complex problem solving, and judgment and decision-making to evaluate options and implement solutions effectively.

Must provide excellent customer service via telephone, written communication, email, or in person.

Must have prior knowledge and experience in:

Computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software, including applications and programming.

Administering Microsoft physical and virtual servers; Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access controllers, and VPNs.

Compliance with security standards and policies following ITIL, NERC, & NIST SP-53 standards.

Customer service principles and processes, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.

English language skills, including understanding of structure, content, spelling, grammar, and composition.

Applicants must meet criteria to obtain access credentials for U.S. government installations, including Eglin AFB.
