Title: D Information Systems Analyst

An opportunity for an experienced D INFORMATION SYSTEMS ANALYST (with Microsoft Systems certification) is required for permanent employment based in Gauteng.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Execute and manage information systems projects
  2. Review information systems change requests from the business and qualify their technical feasibility.
  3. Execute and manage information systems related projects, ensuring each project is adequately and timeously:
    1. Scoped
    2. Planned
    3. Designed
    4. Developed
    5. Tested
    6. Implemented
    7. Supported
  4. Compile business / functional requirements documents (including process mapping)
  5. Understand the needs of the business and determine how the information systems can enable and support those needs by:
    1. Proactively identifying opportunities
    2. Reactively listening to and understanding business needs
  6. Document the business needs in appropriate business / functional requirements document
  7. Where relevant, map out as-is and to-be business processes and data flows
  8. Compile system design and specification documents
  9. Design and document system changes and specifications for new / changed system functionality
  10. Ensure design makes appropriate use of existing components to minimise cost
  11. Ensure design maximises process efficiency and includes measures to monitor its effectiveness
  12. Follow security by design principles to ensure security, privacy and confidentiality is inherent in all system development / changes
  13. Develop (low code), configure & implement system changes
  14. Develop certain changes / new functionality related to Dynamics and Power Apps, working closely with 3rd party partners where necessary.
  15. Perform surface testing for changes / new functionality
  16. Design, plan and coordinate user acceptance testing before implementing changes / new functionality
  17. Implement system changes following the company's change control procedure
  18. Provide level 3 support to users
  19. As a functional expert in the respective information systems functional area, provide 3rd level system or user support where level 1 & 2 support have been unable to resolve an issue or achieve the desired outcome
  20. Apply problem solving techniques to ensure all escalated issues are resolved
  21. For problems, perform root cause analyses to determine and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of issues
  22. Identify where master data administration is not being performed adequately.
  23. Articulate and implement corrective action to ensure master data is appropriately maintained.
  24. Assist with business intelligence (BI) report development
  25. On an ad hoc basis, assist in the development or maintenance of BI reports
  26. Continuously identify opportunities for business process and / or system functionality enhancements
  27. Proactively identify opportunities for business process and / or system enhancements that will add further value to the business
  28. Remain up-to-date with the Microsoft technology stack as relevant to that used or to be used by the company
  29. Proactively ensure your knowledge remains up to date with the Microsoft technology stack as relevant to that used by the company
  30. Proactively suggest the adoption of new technologies / functionality that becomes available that may add value to the company
  31. Work effectively with 3rd party partners where relevant on projects and support
  32. Certain activities will involve working with 3rd party partners.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  1. Minimum qualification: Relevant Tertiary Qualification IT or business related
  2. NON NEGOTIABLE: 5 years' experience with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics or AX) in a similar role including the following:
    1. ERP system design / implementation
    2. SDLC
    3. Business analysis
    4. Systems architecture
    5. Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate development
    6. Application development and SQL experience advantageous
    7. Relevant experience in the rental industry and machine maintenance advantageous
  3. KNOWLEDGE
    1. Microsoft Dynamics, Dataverse and Power Apps development
    2. Functional requirements and system specification documentation
    3. Business analysis competencies
    4. Business process re-engineering competencies
    5. Cross-functional business experience (incl. sales, rental and machine servicing / maintenance)
