Information Specialist - Monitoring and Evaluation

The Information Specialist will support the monitoring and evaluation team within the Corporate Strategy and Innovation department of the IDC.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure efficient data management, knowledge sharing, and information dissemination to support evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Complex system analysis: Ability to draw information from various sources to inform analysis.
2. Data Management: Developing and maintaining systems for data collection, storage, and retrieval, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
3. Stakeholder management: Facilitating sharing of findings, reports, and best practices with internal stakeholders, promoting a culture of learning.
4. Knowledge sharing: Preparing and distributing updates, newsletters, and knowledge products related to monitoring and evaluation.
5. Technology and Tools: Exploring and implementing innovative technologies to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
6. Collaboration and Support: Collaborating with team members to provide technical support and troubleshoot issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information management, data science, or related field.
• Master's degree is an advantage.

Knowledge and Experience

• 5-8 years relevant experience as an Information Specialist.
• Experience managing large datasets, preferably in monitoring and evaluation.
• Strong data analytical skills, critical thinking, and passion for big data.

• Proficiency in data mining, business intelligence tools (Power BI), data processing frameworks, and report writing.
