Job summary

MVC Marketing seeks an energetic Informal Field Merchandiser to visit spaza shops across KwaMashu and surrounding areas. You will build relationships with store staff, set up promotions, and ensure POS and product knowledge are up to date.

Travel daily, carry a valid driver’s licence and own vehicle, and bring at least one marketing/sales certificate. Fluent English and MS Office literacy are required.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.
• At least one year merchandising/sales experience.
• Fluent English with good communication skills.
• Microsoft Office literacy.

Responsibilities

• Call on a database of spaza shops in the informal area.
• Manage allocated store database in the informal area.
• Data collection and reporting on store-related issues.
• Place and ensure POS displays are up to date in stores.
• Interact with store staff about upcoming product promotions.
• Build and maintain relationships with store managers and floor staff.
• Conduct product training and share knowledge.
• Travel/store visits daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Call on a database of spaza shops in the informal area,
• Managing allocated store database in the informal area,
• Data collection
• Reporting on store related issues
• Place & ensure point of sale in store is up to date,
• Interact regularly with all store staff to keep them informed about upcoming product promotions
• Build and maintain relationship with store managers and floor salesmen in the store,
• Conduct training and share product knowledge.
• Check competitor activities
• Travelling/Store Visits daily.

Requirements

• Complete Matric
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Own reliable vehicle
• AT least one Certificate in Marketing/Sales or related industry.
• Cellular/Network Knowledge and Experience
• At least one year experience in merchandising and sales
• Good communication skills and fluency in English.
• Good computer literacy, knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office packages
• Field Marketing Experience.
