Purpose of Position:
Assumes responsibilities for Infection Control activities in the hospital under the guidance of the Infection Control Coordinator and Committee. Maintains surveillance of hospital areas and laboratory data related to infection control, including identification of nosocomial infections. Investigates disease outbreaks, maintains accurate records, and provides hospital-wide infection control education for staff, including orientation programs.

Key Result Areas:

  • Coordinate Infection Control activities as directed by the Infection Control Specialist.
  • Assist in planning and implementing infection control programs in line with standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Develop and deliver infection control education for staff and new employees.
  • Maintain standards for infection control compliance with JCI, OSHA, CDC, and MOH regulations.
  • Review and interpret infection control procedures and policies for staff and management.
  • Maintain records of isolated patients and monitor nosocomial infection prevalence monthly.
  • Collaborate on development and revision of infection control policies and procedures.
  • Work with medical staff to uphold patient care standards related to infection control.
  • Participate in programs that promote infection control within clinics.
  • Prepare infection control reports periodically for management and committees.
  • Monitor environmental cleanliness and address concerns.
  • Investigate infection outbreaks to identify sources and resolutions.
  • Ensure staff compliance with international accreditation standards.
  • Identify and report incidents that pose risks to patients, staff, or visitors.
  • Complete infection control documentation for MOH requirements.
  • Engage with healthcare teams to resolve infection control issues and improve services.
  • Conduct regular meetings to evaluate and improve infection control practices.
  • Oversee staff health screenings and vaccination follow-ups.
  • Compile quarterly infection incidence reports and benchmarks.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned within the scope of knowledge and skills.
