An emerging private hospital group who develop and manage their portfolio hospitals by serving rural and peri-urban clients across three provinces is looking for an experienced Infection Control Registered Nurse.

POSITION INFO :

The Infection Control Registered Nurse (ICRN) is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of patients, staff, and visitors by developing, implementing, and maintaining infection control practices and protocols. The ICRN works collaboratively with healthcare teams to identify, prevent, and control infectious outbreaks within healthcare settings.

Duties will include but not be limited to :

  • Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
  • Monitor and report infection rates and trends
  • Conduct regular infection control rounds to ensure compliance with infection control standards
  • Educate healthcare staff on infection prevention practices
  • Conduct training sessions on proper hand hygiene, sterilization, and disinfection techniques
  • Provide updates on new regulations and guidelines related to infection control
  • Perform continuous surveillance of infections within the facility
  • Analyze data to identify patterns and sources of infection
  • Prepare and present reports to healthcare administration and committees
  • Investigate and manage infection outbreaks in coordination with public health authorities
  • Implement control measures to contain and prevent the spread of infections
  • Ensure that infection control policies comply with state, federal, and accreditation standards
  • Participate in policy development and review processes
  • Work closely with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to ensure adherence to infection control practices
  • Serve as a liaison between the healthcare facility and public health departments
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing infection rates
  • Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement
  • Advocate for patient and staff safety by promoting best practices in infection control
  • Address any concerns related to infection risks promptly and effectively

Requirements :

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or must obtain within a specified timeframe
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in infection control or a related field
