Qualifications

Job description

Genuine Connection Promotions (Pty) Ltd, a clothing manufacturing company situated in Paarl, Western Cape, has a vacancy for a qualified INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINE MECHANIC.

The purpose of this job is to take full responsibility for the efficient preparation, installation, running and maintenance of all sewing machines and equipment in a manner that will ensure maximum productivity and efficiency for all operations within the factory. We operate a world class manufacturing plant with the latest technology and equipment.

Knowledge & Experience Required

1. Senior certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent knowledge and experience
2. Qualified industrial sewing machine mechanic
3. Valid driver’s license with access to own transport
4. 10+ years’ experience as mechanic on the floor of an industrial/clothing factory
5. 3 to 5 years’ experience as workshop supervisor an advantage

Skills Required

1. Ability to work with hand tools and electronic diagnostic equipment
2. Able to work on the following machines: multi-needle chain stitch; lockstitch; overlock; safety stitch; bar tacking; button sew; Avro pocket welt machine; cover seam and 2-needle lockstitch.
3. Attention to detail with an eye for shape and proportion
4. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to procedures
5. Able to work in a changing and fast paced environment

Key Outputs
