Job description

PURPOSE OF JOB

To maintain and grow market share within the food industry / food factories (industrial) client bases within the designated area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Sales & Marketing

  • Increase sales and market share by:
  • Actively acquiring new customers and expanding the client base;
  • Replacing equipment older than 5 years;
  • Advising clients on and selling new value-adding products that could enhance their businesses.

Obtain planned rollouts for the year from clients in the region, and target new developments through meetings, visits, and cold calling for marketing and sales purposes.

Hand over customers in other provinces/regions to relevant branch managers and follow up to ensure deals are closed and business is obtained. Oversee this process and monitor progress.

Negotiate pricing with clients within given parameters.

Project Management

  • Ensure service is provided to new clients and that installations are completed effectively according to the Installations Checklist.
  • Verify that invoicing is correct from the sales order filled out by the Sales Executive and that the invoice and Checklist are faxed to the relevant branches.
  • Ensure that signed confirmation is received from the Technician and the customer representative confirming effective installation.

Customer Relations

  • Maintain good relations with existing clients by visiting or calling each at least every second month.
  • Ensure client satisfaction with services provided and report problems to relevant branches.

Reporting and Feedback

  • Meet with the Sales Director and/or Branch Manager twice a month to discuss customer rollout and account status.
  • Provide formal written reports updating on meetings and activities.
  • Report weekly on client visits, status, and activities.
  • Discuss strategies for new product launches and exhibitions during monthly meetings.
  • Arrange meetings between customers and international suppliers when required.

Cost Management

  • Contribute to annual and ad hoc budget planning with input to the Sales Director, Branch Manager, and Finance Department.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, and KNOWLEDGE

  • Grade 12.
  • At least 2-3 years of marketing and sales experience.
