Job summary

Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled Maintenance Machine Operator for a manufacturing site in Gqeberha. You will set up and maintain production equipment, operate machines to specification, and monitor quality and safety throughout the shift.

You will prepare incident reports, complete job cards, logs, and SPC data, and ensure compliance with procedures. The role requires a Grade 12 and a trade certificate, plus at least 3 years of operator experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• Trade Tested Artisan qualification is required.
• Minimum 3 years' operator experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Sets and maintains machines as per suppliers' operating manual.
• Operates machines according to specifications.
• Handles and operates machines safely.
• Prepares incident reports.
• Ensures equipment produces correct quality product at production rate.
• Maintains extraction and cooling systems in working condition.
• Completes job cards before maintenance work.
• Completes production logs, attribute charts, and SPC data.
• Operates within controls and procedures to ensure integrity.
• Reports risks or concerns to management.
• Promotes compliance with regulations.
• Monitors costs and expenditure.
