Job Position: Industrial Field Technician (Electrician/Millwright - appliances and catering equipment)

Salary: Commensurate with qualification and experience

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Must be a Qualified Electrician/Fitter/Millwright
• Must have a minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar environment
• Matric Certificate
• Minimum of a N4 Technical Certificate
• Must demonstrate the ability to be a keen learner with a “make it happen” attitude
• Must be a fast learner and able to work both independently and within a team
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Product range includes, but is not limited to: industrial washing machines, tumble dryers, ironing equipment, and industrial catering equipment such as ovens, fryers, cookers, fridges/freezers

Key Performance Areas:

1. Install and provide operating training on industrial laundry and catering equipment
2. Prepare quotations and repair industrial laundry and catering equipment
3. Carry out routine maintenance on industrial laundry and catering equipment

Installation Responsibilities:

• Secure the machine to the floor; concrete work may be required
• Connect the machine electrically to 220V and 380V (mostly 380V)
• Connect to water supply and main drain system (basic plumbing required)
• Connect to air ventilation or exhaust system
• Connect to gas or steam supply
• Program and set machines according to customer needs and provide operation and maintenance training
• Complete all relevant paperwork: invoices, job, and time sheets

Repair Responsibilities:

• Identify electrical/electronic faults through fault-finding processes
• Read wiring diagrams; program and operate microprocessors on machines
• Use diagnostic capabilities to assist with fault-finding

Servicing Responsibilities:

• Clean the machine
• Inspect and test components and parts
• Test safety devices
• Provide a report on the machine's condition and recommend corrective actions
