Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Equipment Technician for their Soweto operations to install, maintain, and repair a range of conveyor systems, pumps, motors and processing machinery. The role emphasizes safety, preventative maintenance, and accurate record-keeping.

The ideal candidate has hands-on diagnostic skills, reads blueprints and schematics, and can work independently or with production teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Industrial Equipment Technician or similar role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical controls.
• Willingness to work shifts and relocate to Soweto if needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment (conveyors, pumps, motors).
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to prevent downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults with appropriate tools.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals to understand specs and repair steps.
• Coordinate with production teams to minimize operational disruption.
• Ensure maintenance respects safety regulations and company policies.
• Keep records of maintenance activities, parts used and time spent.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for equipment reliability.
