About the Role

Our client is a prominent manufacturer of specialized industrial machinery, seeking a meticulous and skilled Industrial Equipment Installation Specialist to join their team in George, Western Cape, ZA. This role involves the precise installation, calibration, and initial setup of advanced equipment at client sites. You will be crucial in ensuring that all installations are performed according to strict specifications and safety standards, guaranteeing optimal performance from the outset. The position requires a combination of hands-on technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and excellent client interaction. While this role is primarily site-based, there will be opportunities for remote planning and follow-up, making it a hybrid model. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission new industrial equipment at client locations.
• Perform detailed site assessments to plan and execute installation procedures.
• Conduct thorough testing and calibration of installed machinery to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the installation process.
• Provide on-site training to client personnel on the operation and basic maintenance of the installed equipment.
• Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to ensure project requirements are met.
• Maintain detailed records of all installation activities, including checklists, sign-offs, and any deviations.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Provide remote support for initial operational queries post-installation.
• Manage tools and equipment effectively and ensure their proper maintenance.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Installation Specialist, Field Technician, or similar role within an industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and manuals.
• Experience with control systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics is a significant advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills during installation phases.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
• Must be willing to travel extensively within the region and occasionally further afield.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.
• Technical qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering) is preferred.
