The purpose of this role is to drive operational excellence while ensuring the organization remains committed to sustainability, balancing efficiency with environmental, social responsibility, and governance issues.
Operational Efficiency
- Streamlining Processes: Ensure all aspects of the organization's operations run smoothly and efficiently by optimizing processes, reducing costs, and improving productivity across departments.
- Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and utilization of human, financial, and material resources to maximize efficiency and meet organizational goals.
- Strategy Implementation: Contribute to or lead the development of operational strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives.
Governance and Sustainability
- Environmental Stewardship: Reduce the organization’s environmental impact by implementing eco-friendly practices, reducing waste, and managing energy use.
- Sustainable Business Practices: Integrate sustainability into core business practices, ensuring growth aligns with long-term environmental, societal, and governance goals.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and report on ESG metrics to stakeholders. Collaborate with the Finance Manager to build resilience in the value chain and participate actively in ESG activities as part of the ESG committee.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Prepare orders according to customer requirements following internal procedures.
- Ensure all dispatched equipment meets order specifications.
- Update spreadsheets with order details and perform quality control.
- Provide technical support for laptops, desktops, and related equipment.
- Perform onsite assessments, data erasure, BIOS updates, and assist with hardware and software issues.
- Inspect and assess returned assets, perform data erasure, and conduct repairs as needed.
Operations Management
- Analyze productivity data, optimize staffing, manage stock control, and ensure health and safety compliance.
- Design processes to improve quality, productivity, and profitability.
- Manage project teams, review workloads, and support strategic objectives.
Financial Management
- Manage departmental budgets and optimize stock holdings.
- Develop strategies to unlock cash tied in inventory.
Staff Leadership and Management
- Resource teams effectively, set objectives, manage performance, and foster a high-performing team environment.
- Communicate clearly, implement change management, and promote a collaborative culture.
Governance, Risk, and Business Continuity
- Establish governance systems, assess operational risks, and lead improvement projects to increase profits or mitigate risks.
External Parties and Relationship Management
- Oversee relationships with service providers, evaluate performance, and coordinate with other departments and external partners.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of a Business Management or Engineering degree; postgraduate qualification preferred.
- At least 8 years in operational roles, with 5+ years in senior management.
- Strong business acumen, governance knowledge, and industry-specific skills.
- Excellent IT, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies like Agile, Lean, and Six Sigma.
