Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer for our Kimberley facility in the Northern Cape to optimize production planning and scheduling. You will collaborate with production, inventory and supply chain teams to ensure on-time delivery while minimizing costs and lead times.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in production planning, proficiency with SAP PP or Oracle ASCP, and strong analytical skills to drive continuous improvement in a discrete manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of industrial engineering with focus on production planning and scheduling.
• Proficiency in production planning software (SAP PP, Oracle ASCP or similar).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience in discrete manufacturing preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer orders and internal demand.
• Optimize resource allocation, including labor, machinery, and materials, for maximum efficiency.

• Collaborate with supply chain and inventory management teams to ensure timely material availability.
• Implement and refine lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve throughput.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, on-time delivery, and cost.
• Conduct capacity planning studies to forecast future production needs and resource requirements.
• Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new production planning tools and systems.

• Provide regular reports on production performance and planning activities to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a focus on production planning and scheduling.
• Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., SAP PP, Oracle ASCP, or similar ERP modules).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various departments.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts.
