About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the agricultural processing sector, is seeking an Industrial Engineer with expertise in Facility and Production Layout design. This role is critical for optimizing the flow of materials, personnel, and equipment within our client's processing plants. Based in Nelspruit , the successful candidate will be responsible for designing efficient facility layouts, optimizing production line configurations, and implementing ergonomic solutions to improve safety and productivity. This hybrid role allows for a balance of on-site analysis and design work, complemented by remote strategic planning and collaboration. You will contribute significantly to the operational efficiency and scalability of our client's operations in the Mpumalanga region.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize facility layouts to enhance material flow, minimize travel distances, and maximize space utilization.
• Develop and refine production line configurations to improve efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and implement solutions to improve workplace safety and reduce the risk of injury.
• Utilize CAD software and simulation tools to create and evaluate layout designs and material flow strategies.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to gather requirements and implement layout changes.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and areas for layout or process improvement.
• Develop project plans and manage the implementation of facility and layout changes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations in facility design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
