Job summary

Fullserve Services Pty LTD is seeking an Electrician in Durban to perform fault finding, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems across sites. You will ensure compliance with SANS standards, safety, and quality workmanship while supervising site teams and maintaining tools and equipment.

The role requires 2+ years in electrical work, an Electrician Trade Certificate and a valid driver’s license with PrDP. A willingness to work long hours including weekends is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or Electrical Engineering N3 or NQF Level 4 (minimum) OR Electrical Engineering N6 or NQF Level 5 (preferred).
• Electrician Trade Certificate.
• 2 Years' Experience in electrical works.
• Valid Driver's License Code 10 (C1) or Code 14 (EC) with PrDP.
• Valid Police Clearance Certificate.
• Basic knowledge of electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of Electrical SANS standards and specifications.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply Electrical drawings and designs.
• Ability to drive and operate a Crane Truck.
• Ability to drive and operate a Cherry Picker.
• Physically fit and able to work long hours, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Installations, Maintenance and Supervision.
• Testing and Inspection.
• Fault-finding and Rectification.
• Material, Tools and Equipment management.
• Perform and supervise installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems (domestic, commercial, or industrial).
• Ensure wiring and components align with SANS standards.
• Oversee apprentices, interns, learners and contractors.
• Conduct inspections and testing of installations.
• Verify circuits and protective devices are safe and correct.
• Use testers to check compliance.
• Read and interpret diagrams and blueprints.
• Diagnose and repair faults in wiring, controls, switchgear, boards, transformers.
• Rectify non-compliance issues.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Vehicle handling, inspection and transport of materials.
• Follow OHS/ISO requirements and PPE usage.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety drills and incident reporting.
• Maintain workshop, yard and site safety standards.
• Collaborate with managers and team members to meet timelines.
• Train and guide assistants and contractors.
• Provide regular progress updates and daily job cards.
